There are some very light scratches on my girlfriend's new car head-unit (factory fit one with bluetooth, stalk controls etc - not replacing it), can anyone recommend a 'plastic' or glass polish that will gently smooth the scratches out?

I was going to just try anything, but I'm worried about the material going hazey.

Plastic is a git because it will haze. We've had the same issue here, all we've really found is anything with abrasive particles/fibres will make it worse. Could try a dremel with a polish mop with nothing on it, very very gently.

How bad are they? Got any photos?

I can get some - they are hardly noticeable unless there is direct sunlight on it and you look at it from a certain angle. I am guessing the last owner of the car was a woman who kept her handbag in the front passenger footwell and 'dragged' it out of the car across the stereo (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/rolleyes.gif)

To be honest if it's not that noticeable you may make it worse. So best off leaving it, also ban handbags from the front seat.

I've used regular Autoglym Resin Polish on CD / DVDs before, they come out fine.
