But firstly here's our hire car from Vegas (in front of the Grand Canyon - 600 mile round trip in a day - Awesome !!)

And the Arizona Yard I saw on the way back . . . it was getting dark so the pictures ain't great. If i'd been 10 minutes later it would've been too dark so I was lucky. The yard was locked up and the business was for sale. If it was closer to Vegas I would've gone back but it was proper in-the-sticks.

Your hire car looks nice
nice hire car and that junk yard looks brilliant - i'd love to wander round some of the yards like that in the states....maybe one day!!
Hire car was a Lincoln Town Car, "Signature Limited" - or something like that.
Almost new, not bad but not what I'd call "modern luxury" car . . . Seems Lincoln are still using classic ques from the 60's / 70's like a strap to shut your door with . . . . old even on my '85 Eldo but I'm guessing the Yanks love 'em.
Had a few mod-cons (memory seats were as good as it got) but quite basic . . . I'm guessing the spec was low as it was a hire-car but from what I know the low-spec Caddies are better equipped and have a more modern look / feel.
Was RWD (and appeared to be LSD, too) which came in handy a couple of times, especially when turning around in a very tight gravel picnic area along the Grand Canyon route - left a nice 3/4 donut, there. (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/up.gif)
Good for U-ies on Las Vegas Boulevard, too, if you caught it right. (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/up.gif)

Bet some of that lot has been there a LONG time

Isn't that black thing an Oldsmobile Toronado?
Looks like it, yes.
It had a for sale sign in the window - $3995 IIRC.

But firstly here's our hire car from Vegas
Certainly cooler than our Pug 206 (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/rofls.gif)
Don't know what sized engine it had but I thought we might have to get out and push at some points (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/rolleyes.gif)
When we hired a Pug 206 in Grand Canaria I think it had a 1.4 or 1.6 . . . but putting the A/C on saps half it's power so I can sympathise. (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/tongue.gif)
Yeah when the A/C clicked it was almost like we had a miss fire (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/shame.gif)
Though to be fair I wouldn't want to drive anything much bigger round some of the town's and villages, no wonder they all drive Fiat 500's and scooters bzzzz Caio bzzzz (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/lol.gif)
