Gents, reading the Bentley manual for my bus, it states to use a sealing compound in-between the backing plate and the hub.
What exactly is the sealing compound? Is it just a black silicone sealant? (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/huh.gif)

No, doubtful it's silicone.

That said I dunno.
Is it to stop dirt getting in ? Or stop fluid getting out ? (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/tongue.gif)

It's to stop dirt getting in.
It is where the backing plate for the rear brake drum connects / sits on the hub, highlighted by the green area below:

Any suggestions? I've had a look for 'sealing compound', but there is not a specific thing to use (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/huh.gif)

Probably like a RTV sealant will do, then.
Yeah, that should be fine . . . . leave it to go semi-solid before mounting the parts or it'll all squish out. (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/tongue.gif)
Thanks chap, I'll get some ordered!
Just have to remember to give myself a semi before attaching it for some reason (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/dontknow.gif) I'll not question you though...
