(http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/up.gif) (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/rock.gif) is it a permanent fix tho!?
It is, yes. Hopefully. It's not rained hard enough to fully test it since the repair but if this doesn't work I honestly don't know what will.
Plus I only slid off the roof once ! Bonus ! (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/up.gif)

Next Car Game...
Now has a name - NCG-Wreckfest
It also has functioning LAN and online Multiplayer (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/up.gif) Just in time (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/beavisnbutthead.gif)
Well I've decided to 'pep-up' my current PC rather than spent loads of money on a new one... I've rebuilt it once recently adding a 120Gb SSD for windows to live on meaning it now boots up in under 20 seconds (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/beavisnbutthead.gif) I also added the second gfx card I bought a while back with is now working perfectly fine in glorious SLI (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/up.gif) and got my sound card re-installed & working today too.
I've just decided to buy a i7 960 processor from ebay for £62 which will boost it from 2.66gHz to 3.2gHz, that will arrive in time for the PC to be rebuilt again before the LAN.
Costs:
2nd GFX card: £175
SSD + Cable & adapter: £65 (these are SO cheap these days!!)
Processor: £62
Total: £302 (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/up.gif) (about 10% of what I was considering spending)
Happy Days
My P.C's running epically slow nowadays so I'm wondering what it'll make of a LAN.
Well if you want dean we can wipe and reload it before hand?

Don't worry, I'm going to see how money & saving goes in the next year then this one with its Pep-up new bits will be for sale (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/wink.gif)

A Refresh might be a good idea.
Oh and on a separate note... FALLOUT 3 WORKS NOW!!!! (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/beavisnbutthead.gif)
Lol bet you a happy fubar today then now it working ;)
CPU Arrived today, now fully operational at 3.2gHz instead of 2.66 and no windows re-install required (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/up.gif)
I don't think 2 hours for a full strip down, dust, CPU change, rebuild, BIOS setup and Victory Forum post is too bad TBH (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/beavisnbutthead.gif)
Cool not bad at all then, have you noticed the difference though yet?
As an aside, will still be coming to lan but will not be around on the Saturday much as need to pop to see my mum as she having her hip done the week before so won't be very mobile and both my sisters aren't around on the Saturday, will still be there Friday, and Sunday as well as Saturday night but just not during the day
That's Understandable. (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/up.gif)
She'll be flying once it's healed - my Dad was. (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/beavisnbutthead.gif)
Well I've kinda triple booked myself.. so I'm busy Friday and Saturday evening but free during the day Saturday (possibly free later in the evening) and Sunday..after I've thrown some paint on the walls/ceiling.

Yeah that's what we're hoping for as she is really bad and can't walk much at all (whereas she used to walk everywhere....)
Scratch that, op been cancelled so will be there on the Saturday day
what time are you guys around on Friday? I have to pick up those RC Car Ski bits from the Anodising company on Friday @ 11am ish so will be around from 12 Midday.
As I said to Ian at the weekend . . . Not sure yet . . . I have to hand-over a massive chunk of the project I'm managing at the moment in the morning . . . Depending on how that goes could mean as late as 6pm or as early as 2pm.
I'll know more tomorrow as I'm meeting with my site manager to go through progress.
Spoke to dean about this at weekend and he thinks he be home about 3ish, did you need a lift with your stuff or you sorted?
Lol posted at almost the same time
On a separate, but related note : my mouse packed up a while ago and a few of the keys on my keyboard are getting a bit sticky . . .
What's a good recommendation for a (around £40 or less) WIRELESS mouse and keyboard combo ???
I've seen a few but none are like mine (with the receiver doubling up as a charging dock for the mouse) . . . most, now, seem to rely on the nano (USB) receiver and I reckon that wouldn't pick up the signals too well as the P.C itself is in a cupboard under the worktop . . . . A desk-mounted receiver really is ideal . . .

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=KB-009-GIThis is the only applicable one on Overclockers.
PC world has more choice (Anything Logitech will be fine) just make sure its not a 'compact' mouse designed for use with Laptops, day-to-day will be ok but using one of these for a weekend of gaming twice a year is not good.

It's the "nano receiver" . . . Isn't that the plug in USB thingy ?
Those that show a picture seem to just show that, anyway. (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/dontknow.gif)

Like ryan said, anything logitech or Microsoft ones are all good but likewise double check it's not a 'mobile' mouse as these are tiny!!
As for the receiver you can always just get a short 1m usb extension lead and connect the dongle to that......

Does your Monitor have any passthrough* USB ports in it? I know sometimes they do, if so it could be plugged into that.
* Additional USB Ports (normally found on the bottom or side of the screen) that are not used as a video-input option for the monitor.
The monitor does have two USB ports on the side ..... Doubt whether these were connected to the PC, though.

No, they weren't.
So I've ordered a Microsoft Comfort Desktop 5000 (!!!)
A lot seem to come with the tiny little mice but this one seemed pretty solid looking with a full-sized mouse.
We'll see.
I bought a couple of 1m extension cables, too . . one for the keyboard & mouse and one for my bluetooth thing-ma-jig that I use sometimes for transferring pictures from my phone (it's hidden at the back of the P.C, too so transfer can be slow).

This is now confirmed so me & vicky will be disappearing saturday to swindon, but should be back for the late afternoon / evening, but we'll be there on fri and sun.
Well, before going to work this evening I have managed to fk my pic up to a black screen of death when windows boots trying to install 3rd party drivers for the Oculus rift to make extra games work... So tomorrow if going to be ******* fun... Not happy atm...
Typical shit eh...
ah bugger that's not good (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/sad.gif) does removing the drivers make PC work?
Its taken about a hour but I'm now back up & running, Startup repair fixed whatever was wrong but it took 4 goes at it.
So limited functionality from the OR this weekend but a Kick-ass rollercoaster sim does work (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/up.gif)
Edit: Had to completely uninstall Oculus stuff, will work on this later.
cool least the pc is working that's the main thing !!
