Has anyone seen MKC gritting yet this year?
I'm getting a new battery delivered tomorrow and want to take the car out.
Seeing as temp is currently -1 they would have been out last night I'm sure

Warning though this battery is the wrong size for the 3rd gen, its too long, the battery I had before was also too long but I went with it 8 years ago because of the higher capacity and CCA knowing that the car would be sitting over winter so thought it would fair better. I think the subsequent 8 year life on a car that sits for 4-5 months and does approx. 1800 miles pa seems I might have been right... (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/dontknow.gif)
So it doesn't sit quite right in the battery tray and requires a bit of 'packing out' of the battery clamp to make it hold.
On the + side, because there is air circulation under the 'wonky' battery seating it stops water getting trapped and rusting the battery tray... (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/up.gif) The POR15 coating helps too (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/wink.gif)
