Well annoyingly the weather peeps got it right - billing is fricking wet about 1 -> 2" of water in some places....
Trouble is the ground was already soaked when we got here at 12 today (I got stuck moving the caravan around and dug a 4" deep hole trying to get out - managed in the end to move thank feck!) and we have had almost none stop rain for this arvo / evening so there is loads of surface water sat around...
What i would suggest is that anyone coming make sure you bring some wet weather gear!!!!
We are going to see what happens tonight in terms of rain, but Im being honest when i say if the rain keeps coming and water keeps rising, I am giving serious thought to saying bugger it and going, cos our awning is swimming now (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/down.gif) and TBH if it keeps rising you guys will be sleep IN water....
I prob not be able to post tomorrow, but will text someone (prob Ryan) and give an update of the situation and whats going on....

****UPDATE****OK well it only rained once overnight, but it was uber heavy rain again (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/sad.gif).....
Looks much the same as it was yesterday (see pics below), so not sure what to say, call it off, come and see, wait till later....
Think plan will be leave it till midday / early arvo and see what the weather has done between now and then as currently its blue skies and sunny so could dry out a bit...but then again!!
If anyone of those who are coming and were paying for the ticket (AFAIK Dean, Sammy, Phil, Jo, Ryan, Rob & Chris) dont want to come, fair enough i totally understand, but due to me being a bit skint at the mo, i would have to say unless i can get a refund, the total of £46.00 for the ticket would still need to be split 7 ways making it £6.60 each as i just cannot afford it (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/sad.gif)I will try and speak to the gate staff later on and see what the chances are of a refund and will update someone via text and would appreciate them posting here (as i will be off to Santa Pod soon!!)

Well it did rain quite hard @ santa pod today for about 15-20 mins, and think it did the same at Billing, but still very wet all around and VERY slowly draining / drying up..
1/2 of "traders alley" is still under 2" ofr water - they have taken the very rare step of moving the traders to the middle of the bottom field (by the trees) as think this was the only spot that weren't water logged !!!
Plan of action is now to leave it till tomrrow morning, hopefully it stay dty (weather says light showers overnight ande clear in the morning) pack up the van and then head over to Greame's...........
If ya were thinking of coming sunday IMO i wouldn't bother as the main show field is still underwater for vast areas, and even if we have no more rain it will be boggy as hell and get reallllly churned up once people start putting cars etc on there - if anyone does that is!!!

shame to see it happen as the last 2 weekends have been really nice, but what with the ground already wet and then all the rain we have had recently, it is just sitting on the top and not being absorbed......

Looks like Harry has no time to update the forum with a simple post saying "the field is under water in most places" but does have the time to read this forum and form a long post in response to posts on here. (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/chiny.gif)
Thing is, he's not in charge of the weather so no-one is blaming him for this. So why not post on Friday with a pic of the field saying this is what it's like now and we're hoping it'll get better by Sunday. Then again on Saturday with an update?
It's all very well saying the ticket gate at Billing will tell you before you pay that the place is very boggy so you can change your mind and go home if you choose, but that's several hours travelling across the country wasted that could have been avoided if you had been informed via the forum.
No time to make a 2 minute post? Come on! And if he was that busy why not just ask someone else to post on his behalf?
It shows a real poor attitude.
I was going to go today and had been holding out some hope up until yesterday evening that it might dry out but we weren't thast lucky so I called it off. Shame as it's the only show I was planning on going to this year. (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/sad.gif)
I'd have been well miffed if I'd turned up there this morning unaware. Especially as when it's sunny (and thus busier) on a Saturday there are normally plenty of posts by his nibbs showing the field and telling us how great it is.
Decided not to go aswell s will probably go to the NSRA supernats instead this year.
Pictures on the POC are even worse they are recommending people dont go.(http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/sad.gif)
Real shame as it is one of the best shows of the year and its well put together and organised and the rain spoils it.
We drove past Billing last night and the rain was so hard and fast we were driving at 20mph and couldn't see the road in places due to 2" of surface water(http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/shame.gif)
Some of the puddles were bloody massive and we had to drive real slow through them to make sure we got through them ok, never seen rain like it.
It's a real shame when the weather impacts so much hard work that goes into organising an event like that....
That said, having seen some pics, it looks like people worked hard to make the best of it, and fair play to them for that...

Didn't they used to have a inside show at Doncaster many years ago ?
That was a big place - But only fitted under 100 cars.
Ameri-car a few years back had the same format - all indoors and worked quite well but again - only 100-200 cars.
Albeit some incredible examples.
Billing is a good venue - easily accessible and plenty of room.
Ideal for car shows/rallies and the like . . . unfortunately when the weather's bad, the weather's bad.
There's nothing anyone could do to solve it or prevent it.
And as I said earlier - I've been going to Billing for god knows how many years and this year really was a one-off.
Judging by the pictures it was by far the worst I've seen it in June, ever.
I'm aware that Rocky's comment has been quoted elsewhere but think the response of "You could possibly get off your Ass & give it a go yourself mate." was a tad harsh - especially given that Rocky is a regular and knowledgable contributor to that forum as well.
I think Rocky was referring to shows in general - not necessarily that show and organiser.
Indoor shows do have their place in "the scene" but are rare, it seems, these days.
I remember going with my brother to several when I was a kid but you don't really get them, now.
Possibly down to H&S ? - I know having vehicles indoors is a PITA as many venues will have strict rules to adhere to so all cars will need to be pre-entered and checked before they can be displayed.
No where near as convienient as just driving there, paying at the gate and dumping your car anywhere.
It's a shame as the odd indoor show used to help break-up gloomy winters . . . .
