Whatever!
Thats the original 1963 interior(http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/rtfm.gif)
While I don't like that colour interior on more modern cars (eg 80s ones), on the fins and chrome types it looks good imho.
I absolutely love that car. The interior and exterior are gorgeous. I even have a big driveway to park it on. But no bladdy money to buy it with.
Utterly utterly gorgeous...(http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/sad.gif)
Very nice car apart from the front IMO, its a bit of a "butterface" (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/tongue.gif)

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, if you dont like it you dont have to but i feel just saying it is pants when you know nothing about American cars is wrong. The car has survived in largely original condition for 45 years which counts for a lot IMO, and i do know a little bit about American cars.
to be totally fair, any properly maintained interior will last 45 years, there are a LOT of old cars running around with very nice original interiors, in fact, its relatively rare to find old ferraris with re trims, because the factory trim lasted so well, and partly because ferrari owners tend to look after their cars.
red is a love it or hate it interior, i'm not usualy a fan, but a silver ferrari with a red interior is a nice alternative to the rather predictable red with cream, and it definitely works on the thunderbird. looks less good on a thirdgen though, unless its very clean..
looks a tidy car, has that chunderbird spent some time in Bedfordshire? there was a guy in Wilden that had one in exactly the same colours a few years back.

Was only saying that was my opinion, its not supposed to be derogatory. Its a lovely car in Great condition, original condition too as Motorama says above which is an achievement (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/up.gif)

"Butterface" - Derived from "everything but her face" as part of describing a woman with a fantastic body but a bit of a minger in the face department...
Edit: LMAO Just found this on Google images...

an automotive parallel to BOBFOC - body off baywatch, face off crimewatch
i'd second that opinion though, definitely not a pretty car.. but it is in very nice shape

Sorry dude I wasnt ragging on your car or anything, I meant how others have put it, its a marmite interior, i just came out and said it was pants which isnt very tactful of me so apologies there (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/confused.gif) Any other colour it would have been fine.. Knowing things about yanks doesnt really matter here, I know enough but it was just opinion, I can see its a really good interior, just very red.. thats all..
Yes the car in original condition is pretty amazing, but ive seen alot of cars which 'garage' miles on them with interiors the same (just different colours).. Its not so much down to how good the car or interior is, its just how its been looked after..
That Butterface girl is a waste of a good body. (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/down.gif)

Forget it, like i say everyone is entitled to like or not like the car.
To elaborate a little on the car, what is amazing to me is that this car was supplied new to the UK in 1963 yet is still in pretty good conditon. It has covered well over 100k miles yet the original interior is in nice shape. Sure it needs a little work but compare it to most 45 year old English made cars which will have rusted away and/or had ecessive welding.
As for the colour of the interior it could have been red, blue, black or white. IMO both the red or light blue make a nice contrast to the white bodywork whilst both the black or white are a little unadventurous.

Also worth pointing out that IF that was your own personal car I would not of said anything at all, but because it is a car that you are selling and we normally all have a good comment about the cars you sell I just said about the interior..

Fair point but dont confuse me with someone that just sells cars. I only buy/sell cars i like. I am an enthusiast through and through which is probably why i'm touchy about off the cuff remarks that have no justification. I make very little on the cars i sell but i get loads of enjoyment owning and using them for a while, it's more of a hobby that pays for itself than a job.
I only really put the cars on the forum for some chat and banter anyway, this is one of the few car forums where people still talk about cars.

not really, if you consider i've had a 68 lotus cortina, a 67 cortina with V8 conversion, a 63 Zephyr 6 a 59 Zodiac lowline, and 78 capri, you might see i have something of a liking for old british fords.
should it therefore be an unlikely situation that i prefer the old british ford to the old american one? no, not really..in fact, its blatantly obvious.
perhaps an apology might be in order? that comment was unjustified.

not to me its not, i dont know all your car history and you dont know mine which includes 2 MK1 Escort Mexicos, 1 2000GT MK1 Capri, a modded Anglia 105e and a Cortina 1600E and a modded MK2 3 litre Capri. I'd still choose a classic American car over any of them though, they are just better built and more usable
and this is after all the forum of an American Car Club.
i like them T-birds a lot and the interior is ace much better than.....grey or..... grey or..... grey in modern cars (http://mkb-cc.yanksrule.co.uk//Forum/smileys/rtfm.gif)

[Rant] This thread seems to have got all too personal... the fact is its an old car, in extremely good condition which was an icon of its era, and is purely for those facts alone very cool, even though I have voiced my opinion about it, I don't care. People can factor in any opinon they like about its design, detailing, build, ride or what ever they like, the fact is that whatever it is, be it American, British, Italian, Japanese or maybe, just maybe at a push even (bloody) French it still demands a degree of respect and admiration.
If I see old cars, kit cars, cool cars, fancy cars whatever on the road while i'm driving I look, admire & 'nod approvingly' at the owners regardless of what it is because I appreciate the effort people put into keeping these things running & "shiny side up" I don't care what it is or where its come from, hell even some modified, maybe even chaved, modern cars are cool so long as they're tastefully done. Yeah sure some of them are a bit ugly IMO or not to my taste but i'm blowed if i'm going to force that on other people.
Philo loves his new Alpha, and we all take the piss, but behind it all its still a nice car, not to my personal taste but he still has a passion for a hobby that we all share in.
I like seeing the Peugeot club at the Fancott every month, they bring their cars & have a laugh the same as we do, and given 1/2 a chance i'd buy the Dark Blue 306 off one of the guys there.
Bottom line, its a wicked car, for 101 different reasons that differ between every person that looks at it. [/Rant]
BTW it may be 2:20am but i'm NOT pissed, so that is not a drunken 'Keyboard warrior' rant!

It wasnt the car that caused the ruck, it was the people posting about it.
It's possibly my fault for being passionate about my hobby and cars or it could be other peoples choice of words which could have been chosen better. At the end of the day a bit of discussion is good and keeps a forum interesting, it's the reason i choose this forum over all the others i'm a member of. I only post the ad for a bit of discussion anyway.
As you say each to their own but i dont think it would do any harm to re read a post before you press the submit button. If you wouldnt say it to someones face you shouldnt say it to them on a forum.
