It's what you pay for exclusivity, just like the £1/2m for the Enzo. If they had made 1500 of them they would have retailed for £1/4m or something instead.
There's allot lesser cars out there for similar money and the Nissan is allot lesser likely to fall apart on you to.
Would still take a JUN Skyline over a GT-R to be fair, then I could go hunting Veyrons and all for only £50K.

I think the GT is slightly different seeing as it's a replication of what was a truely stinking car and a limited production. The Nissan is just crazy money, especially if you take into account the rediculous servicing and repairs cost.
I can't speak for the GTR-V, but you get ALOT of car for your money from a GTR.... I think maybe because the servicing cost are in line with cars that retail for alot more makes people think it is a rip-off but it's horse for courses... Our MD paid something like £6k for a major service (every 12,500 miles) on his Ferrari 360 a while back and they were £106k to £135k when new and used still sell for more than a new Nissan. But the Nissan will leave the 360 for dust in terms of performance and handling.
The GTR is an exceptional car for the money and the servicing costs are not in excess of cars of the same parformance.
I'd have one in a heartbeat if I had the money to blow; it was truely exceptional to drive and I couldn't failt the build quality.
The servicing costs are way more than a Z06 vette, so no thanks.

Don't forget the outrageous repair costs, yes you get that with the big names, but we are talking about a Datsun, and since when should a small 10mph or less bump cost about the same as the next model down...

the price tag of an Aston, Bentley, Ferrari, Lambo, etc reflects more than the car itself, you are buying into the heritage and prestige of the brand too. the skyline deserves to sell very well at £50k but not at £125k no matter how specialised focused and cutting edge.
The Ford GT is a slightly different story, because although the brand itself isn't capable of selling a supercar, you have a lot of racing heritage behind the GT40 nameplate, although it was still about £30k cheaper than a Ferrari F360 (and a lot quicker)
