Toyota establishes "Committee to create interesting cars"

This is a 100% true story :

The situation is so dire that even Toyota's top brass have noticed. According to the August 26th edition of "Best Car" magazine (Japan is no longer just 16 hours ahead of the US it would seem), the board of directors has created a "Committee to create interesting cars" in response to grass roots criticism that recent Toyotas are uninteresting. Let's hope that by admitting to having a problem, the company has taken the first step to recovery.

Although you would all think I would object to what is being said being a Toyota owner, in fact I couldn't agree more, like most manufacturers these days Toyota has fallen into the trap of building boring cars, that all look the same.

Their only real achievements (MR2, Celica & Supra (and maybe the early corolla's)) are no longer in production and we are now left with absolute crap.

many times on here in the past I have expressed my disappointment with modern car design.

They will be re-releasing the Supra in the not to distant future as a rival for the 350Z apparently. Have seen some pictures in magazines and it actually looks quite good.
Once the bean counters, safety people and tree huggers get through with it it will probably look crap and go like a slug unfortunatly.
