Noted.

I always give them longer in the bucket and try to allow at least three weeks before drinking.

My Ruby Red is fast approaching 3-weeks mature and I've resisted starting it . . . for now.

Fair enough I'll start with the Fuggles....cos I like the name

Mmm just poured the first couple of pints, the hop tea has certainly changed the taste, for the better.  Still a little cloudy though..

Roadkill

I had a pint of the Ruby Red last night . . . I had one nearly two weeks ago but it was still cloudy . . .

The one last night was awesome !

Clear, a little fruity, yet hoppy, too.  I closed my eyes and I could've been in a cosy little tavern some place.

It's taken nearly 4 weeks in the barrel to get to this stage but it's been worth it.

The IPA is nearly 3 weeks mature, again is still cloudy and as Art posted, is a little Bitter.  I don't plan to try this again until mid-December.

The Golden Ale stalled a bit in the bucket and has needed some encouragement to get it to 1014 . . . she was at 1016/1015 last night so I'm hoping to barrel it tonight . . . . it's been in the bucket, now, for over 2 weeks  . . . !

Cool, now if you can get Lakeland to stock it before Xmas I'll add it to my letter to Santa

FUBAR

Guys are any of you home brewers interested in 450ml Grolsch Swingtops?, we now sell them in the pub.

The rebate for the bottles from the brewery is rubbish (£3.54 per 16 bottles) but Anne has agreed if I give her a fiver for the same this is cool.

Any of you guys interested? (only if you want them yourselves, no selling them on please ) same price £5 per 16 bottles and includes a handy Crate I think too!! which Is probably worth a fiver by itself
1 case is available now.

Yeah I'll take that crate and another when available

Roadkill

I think I'll take one, too.

I'm not a fan of bottling but it'd be handy to make up one specific batch to cover me when I go to other peoples party's.

No rush, though.

good price on the bottles,
i would have some but i have plenty and rarely use um

it all sounds good
it can take a while for the brews to mature ...

if you get a brew that wont ferment out or gets slow
you can add a yeast nutrient,

the werry can often get stuck after a week at around 1014 and a teaspoon of nutrient will help the yeast get working..

If you follow the instructions your supposed to bottle at 1014

Just started a Wilco own brand as the werry has gone up to £22

it will go down to 2012 as far as i know.

the wilco stuff gets some good reviews,

i switched my brewing to all grain as its cheaper per pint,
and is an interestin precess,
but tbh i/we dont drink that much per week ...

will make it all worth while at xmas though ..

Might get some myself, the latest batch went nuts for the first 12-24 hrs but hardly any pressure build up since
I'm normally relieving the bucket of pressure for a good 3 days with the Wherry..

Incursus

Might pick up some http://www.wilko.com/homebrew-accessories+equipment/wilko-beer-finings-30ml/invt/0253121\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">finings as well, the Wherry only really starts to clear when I've nearly finished the barrel

Roadkill

My St. Peter's Ruby Red is now about two-and-a-half months old . . It's matured lovely and is crystal clear with good colour.

The St.Peter's IPA, as that review suggested took two months to clear and mature.  We tried some after a month at the LAN and it was cloudy and unpleasant (ask Ryan) but now it's very clear and pretty damn strong !!!
If I did it again I'd only add 2/3 of the hop powder (just preference).

The St. Peter's Golden Ale has cleared and tastes good.  It's just over a month old, so will be left another fortnight to mature before starting properly.

My next brewing plan is to get another 2 buckets so I can do three batches at once . . . I figure I'll save a load of time on cleaning and preparation and will also save on sterliser (not that I pay for it) . . . It'll also mean that I only have to put up with the buckets in the house for two week as opposed to 3 x two weeks.

The only downside is that there'll be a short period where I'm beer-less waiting for a batch to mature but I'll make sure that I use at least one batch of the "Milestone" kits as these tend to clear and mature enough to drink within 10 days . . also stocking some beer in bottle should carry me through.

Incursus

I see Tesco are doing St Peter's stuff <http://www.tesco.com/direct/search-results/results.page?icid=spiffy_spf_spf_home%20brew%20st%20peter&catId=4294967294&searchquery=home+brew+st+peter&SrchId=4294967294&_requestid=4309916#\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Link>

£31 though.. nearly double what I normally spend..

I've got one barrel of Wilkos Ale + Fuggles that's just finishing off a 14 day chill out in the Garage, I will probably bring it in tomorrow as I'm out of beer!
I've also got a Wherry that's been in the bucket for 13 days..It was good and active for at least 10 of those days..  It normally slows down after only a few days so not sure what I've done differently... I'll test the Gravity tomorrow and maybe barrel/bottle.

Roadkill

I'm not sure if Lakeland's are stocking it yet . . . I passed on my review to Sammy last night.

If they do stock it Sammy can get you a discount . . . . 20-25% I think.

Apparently they're not planning on stocking it  . . .   yet.

This is good news for me as it means there'll be more options for me to product test !
