New MK & Beds Logo?...

Ok, this needs its own thread

It's been suggested that I try & create a Modified version of this sign:

to read MK & Beds through the middle, this is do-able as I have found a flat front-on image of the sign.

Another alternative is a version of This sign:

Just without the background... Milton Keynes will fit very well into the top section of this, it could the have "& Bedford" written underneath...

What do you guys reckon? I'll have a crack at both & see what I can come up with.

If we are going to use that flash site the neon sign might look better against the classic yank on the right hand side

*edit* might look nice with out the hot now just MK & Beds across the middle

if we have the top one we could do that with flash, i think we would need to versions one bright and one dull for it to work

That can be done. I wonder if you could set it to randomly alternate the 2 images so it would flicker like a duff striplight

I don't know if that could be done, but if you made the Gif long enough then it could appear to be.

I have just noticed that myself - the shame one doesn't - but it works when you click on the same image in the extended window (the ... if you hadn't noticed it)

I will fix this when I get a chance.

I had a rough go at work yesterday but i'm going to have a proper crack at it either tonight or tomorrow.

As I say it needs a bit of refinement but its getting there

I didn't think i'd be able to do this one because of the angle & text complexity but it seems to be working.

Still some jobs to do on it (like make a broken / flashing version) & as you mention it make a version with a black background (involves re-doing the Red "halo") & generally tidying the text up a bit but i'm pleased with it so far

Very nice, but I think Beds deserves equal billing. How about MKB in large Letters across the middle, and 'Milton Keynes' in the curve and above, and 'and Beds' in the curve below?

I might try to find a bit of time to have a go at an idea myself.

Yeah I appreciate that the Bedford bit is smaller but replacing Krispy Kreme with Milton Keynes was too much of a gift to ignore as it fits so well

Also Jamie with you're idea I'd probably have to use a font to create the new text, doing it as I have so far has allowed me to cut & paste sections of text & letters to create the wording. This keeps as close as possible to the original look.

why not put and bedford in the outer circle? then you might be able to increase the text size

What about "MKB" at the top and "WE ROCK !!!" down the bottom ?

Also I think "AND BEDFORD" needs to be in a slightly bigger font.

so will have another go at this, I'd thought about the "MKB we rock!" idea too

will see what I can do with the poor little bedford bit.
